<\/p>\n\u201cIt\u2019s really something when you have a new section installed\u00a0in between all the old, and everything works seamlessly both\u00a0mechanically and electrically,\u201d says Lone Kjaer Joergensen,\u00a0Production Manager of Glaseksperten A\/S in Hjorring, Denmark.\u00a0\u201cI was really excited and a bit nervous, but with our new Glaston\u00a0ProL-zone upgrade, we got something far better. Although we\u00a0initially aimed to correct our temperature imbalances, we got\u00a0better lamination quality, higher capacity and reduced energy\u00a0consumption. Plus, we have been able to reduce the thickness of\u00a0the PVB foil from 1.14 mm to 0.76 mm, and are looking forward to\u00a0pushing the limits even more.\u201d<\/p>\n
Glaseksperten, which means \u201cthe\u00a0glass expert\u201d, began in 1990 as a local\u00a0glazier. Since 2000, the company has\u00a0moved into major projects and special\u00a0deliveries of laminated glass to customers\u00a0and construction projects across the\u00a0country and outside Denmark. Today,\u00a0Glaseksperten creates glass solutions in all\u00a0imaginable shapes and forms, making the\u00a0company one of Europe\u2019s most reliable and\u00a0dynamic glass suppliers and enabling it to\u00a0take steps towards its global ambitions.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe problem with our existing furnace\u00a0was getting worse. Temperatures on the\u00a0edges of the glass as well as on both\u00a0ends were not the same as in the middle,\u201d
\ndescribes Lone. \u201cOn a normal day, when\u00a0there were no bigger issues, about 13% of\u00a0the glass had bubbles after the autoclave.\u00a0Some of it may have been caused by the\u00a0glass being too hot when leaving the\u00a0autoclave or when relieving pressure. But\u00a0most of it came from uneven glass heating\u00a0in the furnace.\u201d<\/p>\n
Once the upgrade had been completed,\u00a0Glaseksperten discovered that it could run\u00a0the glass with the same temperature all\u00a0the time for all glass types. \u201cWe only need\u00a0to change speed, and the changeover time\u00a0is nothing compared with what we had\u00a0earlier,\u201d Lone states.<\/p>\n
