Visitors had the opportunity to\nsee the company\u2019s glass processing machines in operation, check the actual end\nproduct quality and hear first-hand about some of Glaston\u2019s latest innovations.\n<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tour began with a live tempering\ndemonstration of Glaston\u2019s FC Series tempering line. From large furnace\ndisplays, visitors could see essential data, such as calculations from the\nglass surface tension. A smaller display next to the line enabled the operators\nto control the process effortlessly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s becoming increasingly important for furnaces to provide a highly controlled way to temper glass,\u201d explained Anna Holmqvist, Project Manager at Glaston, \u201cWith the latest iLooK glass quality measurement system integrated into the line, accurate quality control is delivered consistently and with ease.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/glaston.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/FC-Series_iLooK.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30002\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>When a complex 8 mm low-e glass with\nextremely wide 100mm edge deletion came out of the tempering furnace, the edge kink was measured, showing\nan outstanding result of 0.01 mm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anna shared the company\u2019s latest\ndevelopments for edge kink control. \u201cIt is extremely hard to get this kind of\nresult with a conventional machine. Yet Glaston FC Series consistently achieves\nexcellent results,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The group then got to try out the brand-new\nGlaston Siru mobile application on a piece of broken glass. During the\ntour, everyone had a chance to see how the machines and their modular bending lines\nlook from the inside and out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A highlight in the hall was the large Glaston Jumbo Series furnace installation. Wide and powerful, this tempering giant was a thrill for the group to see up close. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/glaston.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/JumboSeries.jpg\" alt=\"Glaston Jumbo Series\" class=\"wp-image-29976\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGlaston Jumbo offers the best heating\ncontrol available for high-quality jumbo glass,\u201d Markus Kivel\u00e4, Product Manager says. \u201cA highlight of this machine\ntype is its unique Fusion feature, which gives you double-chamber\ncapacity to temper different types of glass simultaneously in one run.\u201d &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Laminating\nlike a pro<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Glaston ProL flat glass laminating line crowned the end of the tour. \u201cThat\u2019s where all the fun happens,\u201d said Glaston\u2019s Product Manager Riku F\u00e4rm. \u201cThe best part about Glaston ProL is its ease of operating. You only need to determine the desired sandwich thickness \u2013 and the machine is ready to go.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/glaston.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/ProL.jpg\" alt=\"Glaston ProL\" class=\"wp-image-29964\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Normally, glass processors have to worry\nabout a range of settings, like furnace temperature or glass type. \u201cWith\nGlaston ProL, all this doesn\u2019t matter. That\u2019s because we\u2019ve replaced\ntraditional infrared heating with full convection technology. Convection\ndoesn\u2019t care about what kind of glass you are running, whether it is coated or\nnot, black or transparent,\u201d he went on. \u201cIt produces great end-product quality regardless.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After demo runs of several glass types with\ndifferent interlayers, the visitors had a chance to examine the consistent end\nresults. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In essence, the visit to Glaston\u2019s\nfacilities was a tour of innovations.
