Throughout the year, demand in the architectural glass market in North America has remained strong while customers are focused on growing their business with more advanced products and increased automation. Tightening building regulations and higher quality standards for glass are driving investments for improvements in heat treated glass.
As reported in Glaston’s interim reports, the North American market has been on a good level in 2019. This positive development was also evident at the Glass Build America exhibition organized in September in Atlanta.
Throughout the year, Glaston has received several orders from North American customers for technologically advanced solutions like the FC Series, RC Series, and ProL lamination machinery. This reinforces that Glaston’s machinery offering is suitable for various industry segments and applications. In spring, Glaston received an order from U.S based Cardinal Glass Industries for large double-chamber tempering lines. Cardinal Glass Industries is the industry’s leading company in the development of residential glass for windows and doors with the clear vision to design and fabricate the most advanced residential glass products in the industry. In addition to their home market, the company distributes glass products worldwide.
Architects and customers in North America are recognizing a higher quality standard for heat treated glass, from roll wave and flatness to isotropy. These demands are driving investment for improved heat treatment machinery to reduce variation and operator derived discrepancies.
