Modern Glass upgrades ProE MAGNUM with Glaston RHC

To retain a leading position in the market requires continuous development and keeping ahead of growing customer demands. Furnace heating disorders were causing a considerable slowdown in the production process of Modern Glass, an architectural glass manufacturer in Chelyabinsk, Russia, and were hindering the company’s sustainable progress. In February 2013, the Glaston RHC upgrade was completed to alleviate the tempering operation and move Modern Glass closer to its goals.

“The idea of carrying out an upgrade and stabilizing the functionality of the tempering furnace was suggested by Glaston representatives,” Mikhail Dedovich, CEO says. “As this step could help us reach our goals, we felt that it was worth trying it on one of our core production furnaces.” ProE MAGNUM could be easily upgraded with Glaston’s latest technology using automatic roller heat control (RHC), which has been developed specifically to solve quality problems caused by roller heat disturbance.

“We have achieved our immediate goals. The semi-manufactured products are heating up uniformly, our production has stabilized, and the heaters are not overheating.

The time that our furnace would be out of use due to the upgrade was essential for us. That’s why the upgrade timeframe was scheduled to be very tight. And, most importantly, the deadline was successfully met.”
– Mikhail Dedovich, CEO , Modern Glass
