Systemglas moves ahead with Glaston RC200

Since Systemglas began just over 10 years ago, the company has been growing faster than ever expected. At the start, the company focused on cutting fire-resistant glass and insulated glass (IG) units with great success. With the installation in autumn 2013 of its first tempering furnace, Glaston RC200, Systemglas has been continuing to experience phenomenal growth for its tempered glass products.

“When we made the decision to buy the Glaston RC200 tempering furnace, it was really scary. It was definitely the hardest investment decision we ever had to make until now because we had had no experience from tempering before,” Rickard Schönfeldt, CEO of Systemglas points out. “No matter how good the machinery is – you need the experience.”

“Working with Glaston in Finland has been very easy, as many of our contacts can speak Swedish, which was really important to us when we placed the order. We started tempering small test pieces – and from there, moved forward. We’re learning the entire time. But the tempered glass quality we’ve been able to produce has been excellent.”
