Ahlström Collective Impact continues its long-term collaboration with UNICEF Finland by increasing its annual contribution to UNICEF’s Global Education Fund, which supports children’s education worldwide. This year, Ahlström Collective Impact members’ combined donation amounts to €850,000. Glaston has been part of the Ahlström Collective Impact initiative since 2020.

Annina Tanhuanpää, Executive Director of UNICEF Finland, says: “Learning outcomes remain a major concern globally, particularly in low- and middle-income countries where many children lack basic literacy skills. Access to quality education and digital learning tools is still uneven. At the same time, international development aid for organisations such as UNICEF has declined significantly in recent years amid increasing needs for support due to geopolitical challenges. Bridging this gap requires stronger private sector engagement – making partnerships like Ahlström Collective Impact increasingly important.”

For Glaston, the Ahlström Collective Impact collaboration is an innovative way to contribute to a better tomorrow for future generations.

“Access to quality education is a fundamental driver of equality and long-term societal resilience. At Glaston, we have identified UN Sustainable Development Goal 4, quality education, as one of the goals most closely connected to our strategy. It provides an important framework for our work and underlines why investing in education is a meaningful way for us to create a tangible impact,” says Marko Mökkönen, Director, Sustainability at Glaston.

Ahlström Collective Impact is a unique collaboration model bringing together Ahlström network companies, foundations, and family members. Launched in 2020, the network now consists of 13 member organisations. Its mission is to advance children’s rights and education through a long-term partnership with UNICEF Finland, while supporting its members in integrating a Child Lens into business practices.
