Glaston Corporation     Press Release       19 October 2026  11.40 EEST

Glaston has received and order from a leading manufacturer of architectural and automotive glass in East Asia. The order include a Glaston CHAMP EVO automotive glass pre-processing line and a MATRIX EVO bending furnace. The order is booked in Glaston’s Q3 2026 order book. The lines will be delivered in the second half of 2027.

In the automotive industry, the demand for special glass and demanding sized and challenging shaped glass has increased. The customer’s investment was driven by the company’s urgent need to increase capacity for the supply of OEM windshields to a multinational automotive manufacturer as their existing equipment was not capable of handling the required windshield dimensions. Further, they were also seeking improved performance when processing coated glass.

The customer already operates 20 Glaston pre-processing lines with over 40 grinders, starting from year 2000, and have upgraded some of their 20 years lines over the last two years. When investing in new bending technology, the company selected Glaston’s MATRIX EVO bending furnace. The fully automated MATRIX EVO was designed to specifically meet the automotive industry’s requirements of a fast-paced production with high optical quality for applications such as windshields with integrated advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), head-up displays (HUD) and the use of coated glasses when combined with the most complex shapes.

“Since many years, the customer uses our pre-processing solutions and the trust placed in Glaston for their investment in new bending technology is greatly appreciated. We are happy that our products support their position as a high-quality automotive glass processor,” says Tuomo Nuottimäki, SVP EMEAI Sales at Glaston Corporation.
