The goal of this new position is to strengthen sales in the region and to meet the high expectations for quality and productivity from the North American customers.
“North America is an extremely important market for Glaston. The market demand for high-quality, heat-treated glass, has been strong in the region. With new glass types and growing sizes, the demand for machinery has also significantly increased. Therefore, we feel it is essential to strengthen our presence and grow our 35-person New Jersey sales and service facility to further support our customers goals in the region. With his extensive experience and excellent communication abilities, Kimmo will be a tremendous addition to our team,” says Scott Steffy, Vice President of Glaston North America.
“I’m looking forward to working together with our existing and new customers to improve their businesses and to fulfill their ever-growing demands for quality and productivity. Automation and digitalization are becoming more and more everyday life in a glass factory, and this will enable all of us to further develop the glass processing industry,” says Kimmo. “Glaston’s diverse product portfolio supports our customers’ needs for new machines and upgrades. And we are rapidly developing our products to help strengthen the industry’s growth.”
Kimmo started at Glaston in 2005 and has rotated throughout the company in many different roles. He’s had hands-on experience in glass processing and technical support. Additionally, he has focused on improving products during his time with R&D and was responsible for the digitalization of Glaston’s products.
Kimmo will transfer to the US from Finland, where he headed up Glaston’s Customer Engineered Solutions.
