US-based Glasswerks upgrades four furnaces with Glaston’s Vortex Pro

With a strong history in glass fabrication over the past three decades, Glasswerks chose to upgrade four of its Glaston Tamglass furnaces with the Glaston Vortex Pro convection system to offer top quality Low-E for its residential window glass products sold through its affiliated company Catalina Tempering. Vortex Pro allows Glasswerks to deliver glass that meets the demanding energy savings requirements that are now a must throughout the US. These latest upgrade investments support the company’s goals of providing a well-rounded portfolio of unique glass solutions and serving customers with a partnership approach for long-term relationships.

When it came to making a decision to upgrade the Tamglass furnaces with Vortex Pro, Dennis and his management team were looking to maintain their strong position in the residential window industry given the current unpredictable market conditions.

“The driver for us was to get really great quality for our Low-E products,” Dennis Jasmer, COO of Glasswerks states. “Currently, we produce about 40% Low-E and 60% clear products for the residential window market. Vortex Pro now gives us random load bed loading to keep the fast turnaround times for our customers. Plus, quality has improved considerably.”

“Throughout my entire career, I have chosen Glaston’s Tamglass furnaces. The trust and customer service that have built up over the years is something that I truly appreciate. I have full confidence in the Glaston team.”

“Glaston’s Vortex Pro is the best system we’ve seen in the market”
