Ravensby chooses Glaston FC500 for new facilities

While demand in the UK market starts picking up again, Ravensby Glass Co Ltd has been busy preparing itself to advance when the market rebounds. The Scottish company based in Dundee, has completed its investment in a second manufacturing facility in the beginning of 2014 and is ready to make a significant contribution to raising the standard in its chosen glass processing sector.

When Ravensby Glass made a major investment decision to invest in building a second manufacturing facility in Dundee, it selected the Glaston FC500 tempering furnace, in addition to its existing Glaston Tamglass HTF, to move into a new glass tempering era.

Ravensby Glass offers customers a significant portfolio that takes advantage
of a wide spectrum of glass and associated systems. Though the company started out by manufacturing simple 4 mm float insulated units, it is now able to offer glass products that employ transparent coatings for inclusion in today’s most efficient building designs.

“As part of our overall production ramp up, we chose Glaston FC500 to be able to manufacture glass sizes larger than the company can currently offer. The key to choosing the FC500 is its ability to provide toughened quality, particularly on high specification solar control products and being able to future-proof our business by having the ability to toughen the next generation of coated glass products.”
