Tambest upgrades performance with control system

“Over the years, we’ve always been able to differentiate our offering by providing the very best quality with very short delivery times. Recently, our reputation has enabled us to win challenging architectural glass projects from many countries around the world,” says Keijo Uusitalo, Production Manager of Tambest in Forssa, Finland. “To keep our performance at such a high level, we decided to invest in a Glaston iControL upgrade for our older Glaston flat tempering furnace. And all has gone extremely smoothly with the project, enabling us to keep making outstanding results.”

It’s no easy feat for a company that started out as a small glass shop in the countryside of Finland to become a world-class player when it comes to tempered glass quality and innovative curved architectural glass. But that’s exactly what Tambest has been able to achieve in the 32 years that it has been in business. Keijo Uusitalo says that Tambest has chosen all major furnaces from Glaston, formerly Tamglass, throughout the years because of the great quality output as well as the local service and support.

“We chose the iControL upgrade for the furnace to help us reach a higher level of quality that was not possible earlier with the old system. The new infrared scanners give us precise information about the temperature of the glass inside the furnace. As the glass passes through the furnace, our upgraded system now gives us better control and thereby much better results.”
